October 2020 Newsletter
Dear Inspiring Together families & supporters,

Even though we’ve had to change just about everything we do to adapt to the challenges of this pandemic, I am proud to see our organization move forward and find creative ways to offer services to our community.

We are mid-way through our 10 week tutoring program. We had so much fun reconnecting with our old students and getting to know our new students! Our semester will go on until thanksgiving break. This semester we see a lot more students from middle school and high school grades taking advantage of the program. We received some encouraging communication from our foster parents that student’s performance significantly improved and see direct impact in their grades as compared to last year.  We really appreciate the support of CASA and DFCS of the State of Georgia in showing confidence in us to provide quality and personalized assistance to the foster youth in the local community.

Decades from now, a large part of 2020 will be remembered as one of the most tumultuous — yet fruitful — periods in Inspiring Together’s history. Despite the turmoil, the organization’s work has not just continued; it has evolved to address the critical challenges. I’m humbled and so grateful for the fine group of people I get to work with every day.

Monthly Highlights
Covid-19 has forced everyone to change their usual behaviors, and musicians are no different. We are excited to announce that this past week we launched our new music program! As part of this program we are offering musical instrument lessons through zoom call to eligible foster youths. Our initial focus will be to offer guitar lessons but will be expanding to other instruments as the program grows.

We have partnered with Metro music makers and they are offering training to our tutors as well as loaner guitar for the students who need one. We had our metro music training and now have four tutors ready to teach guitar.

Good luck to all of our tutors!

About Inspiring TogetherInspiring Together Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization in the state of Georgia that was founded in 2018 to provide extra-curricular opportunities for young people placed in foster care or from low-income families. Our goal is to give these disadvantaged youth, important enrichment activities, that because of family or financial circumstances, they otherwise could not take part in.We also want to provide them with a sense of community and belonging, since young people in these situations often do not have the family support that so many of us are blessed with.
